GCMUN brings together more than 2000 delegates each year coming from almost every corner of the globe for a truly international, formative and exciting Model UN conference.
GCMUN is an international Model UN conference held in New York City both at the Sheraton Hotel and at the United Nations Headquarters. Our 2020 edition welcomed more than 1400 participants from 7 different regions of the world, making it a true melting pot of cultures and diversity.
GCMUN proved to be a great addition to the school curriculum as it greatly impact students’ development, use of soft skills and their talents. Public Speaking, Teamwork, Problem Solving, Time Management, Adaptability, Creativity and Leadership are just some of the skills that participants will perfect attending GCMUN: fundamental skills to tackle an ever-changing society and different work environments.
GCMUN puts its participants in charge allowing/informing them to unleash their powers and reach their full potential in school, university, at work or in their every day life.
GCMUN is mostly a High School conference (accepting students from grade 7 to 12) and it is open to school delegations only. The conference is built on the purpose of enhancing its participants abilities, strives to deliver the highest educational experience and aspires to be a highly formative international forum.
Participants should expect great current topics, fierce debate sessions and an international staff board coming from the world’s most prestigious universities. The conference usually holds its last debate session and closing ceremony at the United Nations Headquarters*, having given its past participants the possibility of debating in Committee Rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, ECOSOC and TRUSTEESHIP. Closing Ceremony usually takes place in the iconic and breathtaking General Assembly Hall.
*Please note that sessions are subject to availability of space at the United Nations. Please, note that Meetings and sessions of the United Nations and other intergovernmental bodies take precedence over Model United Nations conferences.
Thank you for the great conference and all your conjugated efforts for making it a success, the students had an amazing time both in and outside of committees!
The group enjoyed the conference. It was such a wonderful time being in New York with so many different people. Thanks again for your perfect organization.
